I stumbled across this website while just randomly searching Hana Yori Dango. I watched it during middle school almost 10 years ago I just suddenly became curious about it again. This is such a cool website. The last I seen anyone post was 2018 , I hope people still come to visit and the owner still comes back from time to time lol. I’m trying to watch Hana Yori Dango again but I’m having trouble finding a place to watch it online. But finding this website is really cool and has kind of a nostalgic feeling to it seeing posts and things from as far back as 1997 makes it hard to believe it’s already 2020 lol.

I want to make a British version of Hana Yori Dango. A drama series that encompasses the core story of HYD, but reflects it in British characters, locations and culture. A QUALITY drama that is both serious and lighthearted. Chemistry is a must! I'm writing the script now. Maybe one day it can become a reality.

Hey Emily: I've seen ALL the versions of Hana Yori Dango. I must say Taiwan's 2018 version is just so adorable and nearly the manga on the screen! I can't wait until each country has their own. I came across HYD manga last year when my elders sis's friend showed me her manga collections and I became a huge fan of this series!! But sadly not many know about this great series and when mentioned only thinks about the kdrama (and many thinks the kdrama is the original -_-; ) Anyways I stumbled upon your site and you have some great info about this fandom, which was a pleasure to read  P.S. I don't know if you know but there's also a Turkish drama version based on HYD but it wasn't great like the Jdrama (which I think is the BEST) nor crappy like the english one ^^;

Keep up the great work! The newest version of Meteor Garden 2018 is fantastic! Honestly I feel they were the best live action adaptation of the Hana Yori Dango story. The acting and cast is superb! And man did they make me cry on some of the episodes. Dylan Wang as Domyouji is perfect!

I had first discovered about the manga in 2012, and the first website that I had visited was this. From 2012 to early-mid 2015, I had only watched the Japanese/Korean adaptation, and less than 10 episodes of the anime. It was only in June 2015 that I had finally decided to read the manga. Oh, my, gosh. I frigging loved it. I'd finished it within 2/3 days. How crazy is that? 20+ hours of my life well spent! I would just like to thank you for making such a well-organised and very nicely-designed website for Hana Yori Dango fans and newcomers. It has helped me a lot since 2012, and I still come back here once in a while. To be honest, I'm not too keen on the sequel of Boys Over Flowers, but oh well, maybe one day...

Hi! First of all, I'd like to say this is a very nice fansite. I have only watched the japanese version of the dorama and I enjoyed it very much! For the hardcore HYD fans or rare manga collectors (mainly): I happen to own several Margaret manga magazines (about 9 volumes) featuring HYD stories (in Japanese) and most of the covers also feature HYD drawings. Major props that this website is still up! I still love the story forever and I gotta say that the manga does the most justice to the story! I'm still waiting for a live action that will do a very very very good job with the story and I can't believe they did an English version, I was expecting it but to hear it done so poorly is quite saddening. There is one more adaptation you need to be aware of. In 2009, you spoke of "Let's Go Watch The Meteor Shower" and before that was "Boys Before Flowers" and before that was "Hana Yori Dango" and "Meteor Garden". Love love love this! I was so bored one day and Boys Over Flowers was on Netflix. I watched it and I loved it. Then I started watching all of the other versions. I actually found that the Japanese version is the BEST! The others are all awesome too, but the Japanese version is my personal favorite. I have yet to read the manga though. Love your website, I'm glad someone dedicated a website to the best series ever^_^

I stumbled upon This said while reading an artical about....violent.....shoko themes ^_^;; I read the manga all the way through and I love it! I kinda saw a little of the English version of the anime, but I just dno't like it as much as the manga T.T maybe because it was shorter and the characters didn't develope as much to me.... But I love you website, it has so much information about BOF:HYD, and in one place!!! So cool! I saw the korean adaptation and I've heard that it's the best one out of all. I love the korean drama, and I recommend it to anyone who want to keep BOF in their heart a little while longer.

Hello, I've read your info on where to buy the US DVDs but the site you've described doesn't have any. I've tried other sites (the usual Amazon.com/Ebay.com & others) but I keep finding the bootleg versions that have Chinese subs or I can't find a complete boxset. I've brought a lot of anime and the US version DO NOT have Chinese subs. Where else can I look to find original US versions? I prefer to buy the boxset since it'll be cheaper and would like to get a new set. Thank you if you could be of help!

So I walked into the rental store today, and in the bin of "please buy our stock of ancient vhs tapes" was a copy of the 1995 Hana yori Dango. I blinked and said "I had no idea there was one in 1995." So I went to one of the clerks and asked her if there was a copy for rent. She checked. Japanese tv drama... two movies... Korean tv drama. But no 1995. She said "It's just so old. They haven't released a dvd." I said "I was 28 in 1995. It's not old!" Well, that argument doesn't really hold water. So I came to look it up online and found your website. Your comments under the screen caps are hilarious!

Hello Emily, I'm a big fan of HYD (I've seen many versions: taiwanese, korean, japanese and chinese + the anime and the mangas) and desperately searched for the movie (1995) when I found this site. So I didn't manage to see the movie on the Internet, BUT I could at least have an idea of what the movie looked like through the photos and the comments you posted (which actually made me laugh out loud! ) So thanks for that, it was really fun! Oh, and to respond to lail, who wrote a comment previously (516): I'm european, and I am totally addicted to dramas, especially HYD! HYD forever!!!!!!

I live in switzerland, so it's no as easy as for you guys in america to find the mangas from "hana yori dango"(even in germany there ar no mangas from this amazing series)..i've only seen the anime(japanese,not the korean,taiwan or whatever) on youtube, but the ending was a bit disappointing(on a yacht, episode 51)...so im looking forward to read the english written mangas from animeNation(but can i buy them in switzerland?)...so, is there a happy ending? im like addicted to this!!! i've watched all the dramas: first meteor garden, bof, hana yori dango and meteor shower. at first, my favorite was meteor garden cause it was the first drama i saw! but now, its HANA YORI DANGO! and i've read the graphic novels too. i cant believe that akira once liked makino! unbelievable. i wonder if any non-asians hav watched HYD. hmmm.... -addictedlover

OMG I written in your guest book a couple of times already but Emily... YOU'RE AMAZING lol. Haha i started watching the new Chinese Hyd a week ago and i was going to tell you about it in your guest book so you'd update your site but you did it already HAHAH! I LOVE HANA YORI DANGO WITH MY WHOLE HEART! lol I've seen and read everything and I STILL LOVE IT! It remains my favourite Story of all time no matter what. Nothing tops this love story! Wowo How long had you had this website? since the show aired back in the 90's ! luv ur site, two years ago when I saw the anime I became in love with it, then saw the first season of the Japanese drama, all I gotta say Im a big fan of Hana Yori Dango , so its cool that you have a website like this for us fans out here.

MY ALL-TIME FAV DRAMA/ANIME/MANGA!!! for those of you who have read the manga and watched all the different versions of HYD, should know that the MANGA is still the BEST!!! the latest version aka CHINA's version is HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! the whole story is so twisted, and different from the original plot!!! its very tiring to watch. Emily, Just wanted to say I really love your HYD website! Your website has been a very much help with me when running my "Hana Yori Dango Live Action Fan Panel" at some Japanese Animation Conventions. One the rumor about an China Mainland version of HYD isn't a rumor anymore. Starting in August 2009 "Meteor Showers" which is the title for the China Mainland will begin. Also news on the 1995 HYD movie. Thanks for posting the Amazon link on your main site. I went ahead and bought it and ripped it and sent to SARS-Fansubs. They plan to sub it in the future. So be on the look out for it. One last thing- I'm planning to open my own HYD Live Action website in the near future. The website will be decided to all the different live action versions and how close they are to the manga. I'm currently watching Meteor Garden, season 1 and season 2. And actually..for me the season 2 isn't awful. It's quite sweet I suppose. But the fact that Dao Ming Feng (Kaede Domyoji) always interrupt Dao Ming Si (Tsukasa) and Shan Cai's (Tsukushi) love are annoying. Dao Ming Feng really is annoying in the season 2. Anyway, I'm glad to found a website like this which is full of Hana Yori Dango arts ^^ I've been looking for them everywhere. And also I just found out that HYD manga has 37 series! I thought it only consists of 36 series.. T.T hic hic.. I can't find number 37 anywhere..

...I have just finished watching the Korean version and it was good although there are several unbelievable scenes, (ex: Jandi holding up the boy who jumped from the rooftop by the shoulders...her size won't be able to hold him like that seeing he's more than 6 ft. tall; Jandi saving Junpyo from the pool dressed up like that and without any help, was able to raise him up to the poolside, and many more which can be blamed to the Korean PD's who went over the top for this drama) I would still commend the actors Goo Hyesun, Lee Minho, Kim Hyunjoong, Kim Bum and Kim Jun, who did great inspite of it all. They are all good actors, Lee Minho especially, who emoted the role of Junpyo/Tsukasa like he was really born for the role. I do think his Best New Actor award for this drama is well deserved. I will still root for the Japanese HanaDan not only because of the impeccable acting but because the editing and storyline went smoothly...more kudos to the directors. Thank you for your hardwork.

Hello Emily, I'm not sure but I think I had stumbled across your website a few years back when I was still living in another country, now, a few years later and about 2 to 3 more countries later (yeah I've been globe hopping due to studies), I'm back here. It's amazing how you've done this for years!And the most amazing thing is that you're not asian! I've been following HYD ever since I was about 13/14 when it was unknown and not popular and I'm almost 22 already, and it pleases me that there's someone more obsessed than me! I'm really grateful to all the hard to find infos provided here which I've been looking to no avail previously. I've finally finished watching the Korean version and boy! am I glad they did it. But I definitely won't watch the China version, no racism intended coz I love the Taiwan ones, it's just seriously, the cast! they will just destroy the image of F4!!! and I heard that Phillipines are planning to do it to. Actually Indonesia had attempted an adaptation before, but it's not so widespread to the world. Although the casts were not so bad. I only managed to watch one episode a long time ago and couldn't find anymore. I had forgotten what's the title but I remember 2 of the actors and one of the theme song, so i hope you can dig them up somehow. The theme song is called 'seberapa pantas' by Sheila On 7 and the actors are: Roger Danuarta as Rui and Leony as Tsukushi. So yeah, onegai shimasu. Really thanks for all the works

Dear Emily, its SO GOOD to know that at another end of the world, there's a big fanatic of HYD like me!!! ok, correction, theres a lot out there (fanatics, i mean), but none are as crazy as us, i guess. btw, i'm from singapore. HAHAHA! i got a good laugh reading your comments under those pictures of the Hana Yori Dango Live Action Movie (1995)! i've watched that on youtube once and felt like smashing the computer screen into bits, but i didnt because the computer is totally innocent, it's the show thats crappy. i've also watched all the other versions of HYD, i mean ALL. From the anime to the live action drams (taiwan, japan, korean), and even the whole entire series of the manga!!!!!!!!!! Up till now, i only own the entire manga series and the entire Japan version (dramas and Final Movie), but im still working to collect all the different drama versions, and not to forget the COLLECTORS' EDITION of HYD(the bigger sized manga series that cost SGD$18 per book!)!!!! GOSH! Do you know that China's coming up with another new version of HYD!?? Its so sickening mainly because the cast look like nothing close to F4, basically ugly fresh faces. Opps! Haha! Hope I wont cause a riot. anyway, i hope to talk to you soon,because you know as much as me about HYD series! you should know how boring it gets, telling friends around you about HYD when they have absolutely no clue as to what you're saying. I love HYD comics, animation, dramas and movie since I started reading its comic books which was released in the late 1990's. They are sooooooooo good and are still as great when I read them last night after having them for close to 10 years now! This is definitely the best written story! And I'm so happy that they released the perfect HYD final!!! It rounded up everything fans would love to see....definitely the best! I'm so glad they did it right and made everyone so happy! What more can we hope for? Unfortunately, we see the end of HYD with HYD Final but then again, it starts with us forever!! HYD Foreverrrrrrrrr!

You're so dedicated! I LOVE HYD <3333333333333 It's my favourite show!!! I prefer the manga first because sooooo much is in it and there's like 36 volumes and a lot happens in it, i just didn't like how makino sort of becomes super short and anorexic a bit. Then comes the anime, the music and the voice actors were AMAZING!!!! Meteor GArden was okay..... it was not the best, Domyouji was kind of a soft, shy, and not powerful at all, so it really wasn't rememberable. The Hana Yori Dango live action............. OMYgoodness practically killed me. I hated the Japanese live action..... i don't know what they did that was actually good...... Of course Rui was very good looking. The Korean one soooo far i like it very very very very very MUCH! domyouji looks good and he looks powerful and it's really following the anime quite nicely. I can't wait till the next episodes. But yes once again i love HANA YORI DANGO VERY VERY VERY MUCH.<333 and your sight is really awesome!!!!

Thanks for your hardwork. I have just finished watching HanaDan Final from mysoju and am looking forward to the KDrama version. The Korean cast looks closer to the manga characters especially the heights although I don't really know if they can measure up to the Japanese cast's acting. Matsumoto Jun, Inoue Mao and Shun Oguri plus Matsuda Shota and Abe Tsuyoshi are a hard act to follow. Excellents actors that they are. I heard the Korean actors are also good though I have to see first. I've only seen the acting of Hyesun, Minho and Kim Bum,Hyunjoong in variety show WGM and Kim Joon in music videos...so I have no idea. HanaDan is really addicting and I'll love to see every version too...I heard the Chinese are going to shoot their own version too and I don't mind if every other country make their own. Thanks again and Merry Christmas...looking forward to Kkot Boda Namja for the New Year!

domo! i really love your site... because i'm a big fan of all versions of HANA YORI DANGO... you had a wonderful idea that there should a version of HYD in all countries... and i'm strongly hoping to have a PHILIPPINE version of HYD.. in our own dialect, "mga lalaki bago mga bulaklak".. (it's kinda corny..) if that will happen... i hope that the Phil. industry would not murder again the magnificent of HYD... (like they did to the HYD jdrama)... for me... Hi I recently ended watching Hana Yori Dango (the anime) and I just loved it! It was funny and serious in a great balance, the characters were captivating, the music was perfect for each situation. I was a bit disappointed about "Neverending" because I was expecting a love declaration from Tsukushi to Tsukasa (he really deserved it for all that he'd been through, don't you think?) and it would have put a clear end to Tsukushi's indecisiveness, but I still loved to watch this series and I definitely became a fan. I'm Portuguese and in my country it isn't paid enough attention to anime (specially shoujo, my favorite), so I don't have easy access to most of anime or manga. That's why your site is very helpful, congratulations for your good work! I have two questions: - Do you know if there is an announced end to the Hana Yori Dango manga? I thought that the story was already over (I just watched the anime), so when I read your comments to the manga I was very happy to know that I could still enjoy more of HYD! - Do you know any anime similar to HYD (besides Marmalade Boy)? Or other anime from the same author? If you do I would really appreciate your suggestions, because I'd like to continue my journey through these wonderful series Thank you

Esp. the drama (matsujun-kawaii!).. Love the manga! I finished the entire series in one week (onemanga.com). I haven't read much anime (ranma 1/2 and Inuyasha have been my favorites so far), but I have to say that this series holds a spot for me. The characters were not just interesting; it was great seeing them grow and mature and interact with each other. The story was great, but I only had one problem with it****SPOILER***** Doumyojo's memory loss towards the end of the series sounded too soap-opera-ish for my taste. ***END OF SPOILER***Otherwise, it was excellent!

..i enjoy reading the summary of the HYD anime/mangga series. Just like you Im dreaming also to own the full volume of HYD. Unfortunately, aside from being too expensive its also not available in our country..(sigh).. Taiwan version of HYD was far from the anime story (or the director decided to do that to draw much attention from fans/viewers ) I've enjoyed it anyway and now thanks to our local TV station Iam now enjoying Japan's HYD 2, last year we have watched HYD 1.. hehehe..i admire all the characters (jap. version on the tv series ) there acting and performance changes a lot!! thanks to your translation and to this summary! I'm greatful for this page, it pisses me off that the 'official' website is only in japanese. I loved your quotes for the clips of the live action movie. I actually lauged out loud quite a few times. i dont remember tskasa being so topless in the book or anime series Exactly how many books are in the series?
